Assembly poll results are to be declared for Gujarat in a couple of days. The ever-so-not-reliable exit polls have predicted that Modi will not exit but by a very small margin ranging from from 2 to 20. This brings back a sense of deja vu when after the Lok sabha polls of 2004, all the supposed experts had predicted a win for the NDA and they were trounced.
I wish BJP to come back to office because I believe they are the only party that can lead us on a path to development. The Congress machinery is so corrupt, it is frustrating as a citizen to observe their style of functioning, which has not changed over decades. Though Modi may have or may not have something to do with the 2002 riots, he is still the best man for the job.
Having personally listened to the experiences of some employees in state government offices recently, i came to know how they had to become more and more effecient in their demanding jobs since the last five years. According to them, corruption had gone down drastically and their bosses and ultimately the whole system was now under the pressure to perform.
The result may favour the congress this time, but that would only mean making a U turn on the brilliant policies of the state govt of the previous five years. Hope to see the better party i.e. the BJP come to power.
Meanwhile, I also hope to wake before 11 am in the vacation.

Laziness
I am too lazy to choose a topic and express my views on it. So I will just give a boring account of my life in the past month. After my fifth end-semester examinations got over on 7th December 2007, I have been shifting my weight from in front of the TV to the computer to the dining table to the bed mostly.
The end sems were an ordeal that the previous 4 semesters had not readied me for. Somehow, with help from friends, especially Akshat, I managed to give it a challenging shot. Some times I wonder why our professors(you-know-who) behave like sadists and how much easier life would have been had I enrolled myself in Mechanical instead of Computer Engg. The mechanical dept is a dream come true for students, with the thinking and attitude of their teachers. I remember sitting in the AAD exam and checking the question paper thoroughly over and over again and coming to the dire conclusion that I have read of only 4 marks out of 50. If I tell you the answers to the questions I have written, you might consider not giving me my degree altogether. But as my eyes scanned the room, I saw so many people in the same predicament and that boosted my spirits. You-know-who similar to his namesake (read Lord Voldemort) proved to be everything that is not right with the world(A bit of exaggeration is acceptable, with the emotions he generates among the students). Moreover this year, the answer sheets were shown to the poor students before they went home, and due to dismal performance, half the class is afraid of having to sit for atleast one exam again.
Since then though, I have not much to say for me. Next day Siddharth and I organized an inter school quiz and a game called "20 questions!" in our alma mater St. Xavier's High. It was a wonderful experience that made us recall the time we were students in the school. The kids, their enthusiasm, their sense of competition, the hymns sung by the father, all this was reminiscent of our time in Xavier's. This was the first time either of us had conducted an inter school quiz, that too in front of a huge crowd from all the participating schools. The initial nervousness gave way to confidence and immodestly, we were good enough to keep the audience engrossed and the participants interested. Abhinav was disapproving of Siddharth trying to flirt with a girl.
Two days back, I visited the other school I have been educated in, Kendriya Vidyalaya. Nilay, Chandru and I gave some tips to the XI and XII Science students how to approach AIEEE. Std XI was particularly unique because they took some time to get warmed up to talking freely to us. But once they did, they liked the discussion so much they very unusually used up their whole recess to talk to us. Hopefully, they absorbed the good in the advice and did not pay attention to the rest. KV was my first experience of an anarchist setup, without much rules. Going there and teaching the kids about discipline was a bit ironical.
In the previous 10 days, the only other thing of note is my teaching Std XII subject computer science to my brother and physics to a family friend. Teaching is tiring work, and I empathize with the few of my teachers who have tried to teach us but we have not let them.
Other than that, I have thoroughly wasted my time.

Movie review: A start
Its saturday and unusually i have already seen arguably the 2 biggest movies of the year that released this week. I do not even wish to get started on Saawariya so let me start of with om shanti om now n then ll take up saawariya
OSO would receive a 2.5 star rating out of a maximum 5 from me. Farah khan should have removed the lame story it had n instead make a movie only wid actors spoofs. That would have worked out well. The comedy only brought a chuckle on the face. This Karz meets Karan Arjun never got off from the start. It kind of never engrossed the public's attention. They never identified with om, the protagonist. Deepika Padukone(i am really biased about her) looked awesome- even this is an understatement. But she never had a proper role to work out with.
Saawariya- Rating: 0 out of 5. I had the misfortune of going to its premiere. It is a nice movie except that it is made about 50 years late. I do not want to comment on the actor whatshisname. Sonam kapoor was likable though. But sitting for more than two and a half hours in the movie hall without any story just looking at the sets was not my idea of wasting time and money.
Hey ppl comments are appreciated..
